My name is Li Ming. I am a sixth-grade student. Our English teacher, Miss Wang, always encourages us to write in English. She says writing is like painting with words. I think it's fun.
Last week, we had an interesting English class. Miss Wang asked us to write a short paragraph about our favorite season. I love autumn best. So I wrote: "Autumn is my favorite season. The weather is cool and comfortable. The leaves turn yellow and red. They look like a beautiful painting. I can eat many delicious fruits, like apples and pears. I often fly kites with my father in the park on weekends." Miss Wang read my paragraph to the class. She said I used good words like 'comfortable' and 'painting'. I felt very happy and proud.
From then on, I like English writing more. I keep a small notebook. I write down new words and short sentences in it every day. Sometimes I write about my family, my school life, or my little cat. I try to use what I have learned. At first, my sentences were very short and simple. Now, I can write longer and better ones. Practice makes perfect. I believe my English writing will become more and more beautiful, just like a flower blooming.
