National Day Celebration: A Splendid Birthday, Deep Love for Family and Country
The National Day is always the most lively and grand day of the year in China. Walking on the street, one is immediately enveloped by a sea of red. National flags flutter on both sides of the streets, in front of shops, and on the windows of homes. That bright red, like a burning flame, ignites the festive passion in everyone's heart.
On the morning of National Day, our whole family gathered in front of the TV early to watch the grand military parade and mass pageant broadcast live from Beijing. Seeing the neat and mighty phalanxes and the advanced weapons and equipment passing by the Tiananmen rostrum, my heart swelled with an unprecedented sense of pride. This is the strength of our motherland, accumulated through hardship and struggle! My grandfather, a veteran, watched with tears in his eyes, repeatedly saying, "It's not easy, it's really not easy." I know that in his tears are memories of the past and pride in today's prosperity.
In the afternoon, our family went to the city square. The square was packed with people, and the cheerful music filled the air. Various themed floral displays were exquisitely arranged, with the words "Celebrating the National Day" particularly eye-catching. Many people were taking photos in front of the floral displays, their faces filled with happy *iles. Children ran around waving *all national flags, their laughter echoing through the air. I saw a little girl asking her mother while holding a flag, "Mom, why is the National flag red?" The mother patiently explained, "Because red represents the martyrs' blood and our fiery hearts." This simple Q&A was the most vivid patriotic education.
At night, the fireworks show was the climax of the festival. Countless fireworks bloomed in the night sky, some like giant chrysanthemums, some like cascading silver waterfalls, and some forming the pattern of "73" in the sky, celebrating the 73rd anniversary of the motherland's founding. People raised their heads to watch, exclaiming in awe. In that moment, it felt as if everyone's hearts were connected, beating to the same rhythm for the prosperity and strength of the motherland. The most moving scene was when everyone spontaneously sang "Ode to the Motherland." Tens of thousands of voices came together into a powerful force, expressing the deepest affection for the homeland.
This National Day holiday, I deeply felt the strong national cohesion. This cohesion stems from our shared history and culture and from our shared pride in the nation's flourishing development. Every ordinary family enjoys peace and prosperity because of the stability and prosperity of the nation. This deep integration of family and country sentiment is the most precious treasure during the National Day. I am proud to be Chinese, and I love my motherland deeply.
