(Two students, Alex and Jamie, are near the campus library.)
Alex: Hey Jamie, you look a bit lost. Everything alright?
Jamie: Oh, hey Alex. Actually, I’m trying to figure out how to renew a book online. The library’s website is… kinda confusing.
Alex: Tell me about it! I had the same issue last semester. You need to log into your student portal first, then find the “Library Resources” tab.
Jamie: Right, I saw that. But then it asks for a loan ID or something?
Alex: Yeah, just use your student ID number. Click “My Loans,” select the book, and hit “Renew.” Easy peasy.
Jamie: Got it, thanks! Speaking of which, have you booked a study room for our group project yet?
Alex: Not yet. I heard you have to do it 24 hours in advance through the campus app now. No more walk-ins.
Jamie: Seriously? The policy changes so fast. Okay, I’ll set a reminder. Want to meet at the usual spot tomorrow?
Alex: Sure thing. Let’s aim for 3 PM. If the room’s taken, we can always crash at the student union.
Jamie: Perfect. Thanks for the help!
Alex: No worries. Catch you later!
Unit 7: Discussing Academic Pressure
(In a campus café, between classes.)
Jamie: Alex, over here! You survived Professor Grant’s midterm?
Alex: Barely. That essay was brutal. I pulled two all-nighters just to get it done.
Jamie: Same here. I feel like I’m drowning in deadlines. Sometimes I wonder if I chose the right major.
Alex: Hey, don’t say that. You’re always top of the class in presentations. Remember last week? You nailed that sociology analysis.
Jamie: Thanks… I guess I just get stuck in my own head. How do you manage the stress?
Alex: Honestly, I started using the wellness center’s mindfulness workshops. Sounds cheesy, but it helps. Also, breaking tasks into smaller chunks—makes things less overwhelming.
Jamie: Maybe I should try that. I tend to leave everything till the last minute.
Alex: We all do sometimes. Want to join me for a quick walk? Fresh air might clear your mind before the next lecture.
Jamie: Yeah, good call. Let’s go.
