There are four seasons in a year, but my favorite is autumn. It comes after hot summer and before cold winter. Autumn has its own special beauty that makes me happy.
The most wonderful thing about autumn is the color. Leaves change from green to bright red, orange, and yellow. When I walk home from school, the ground is covered with a crunchy carpet of leaves. I love kicking through them and hearing the sound. The air in autumn is also special. It becomes cool and fresh, not too hot like summer or too cold like winter. It's perfect for flying kites or having a picnic in the park.
Autumn is a season of harvest. Farmers are busy picking apples, pumpkins, and other crops. My family often goes to a farm to pick apples. We eat some right away—they are so sweet and juicy. We also use pumpkins to make pie. The food in autumn always tastes the best.
Another reason I like autumn is because of Mid-Autumn Festival. My whole family gets together. We eat mooncakes, tell stories, and look at the big, round, bright moon. It feels warm and cozy.
Some people say autumn is a little sad because leaves fall and plants sleep. But I don't think so. I think it's a beautiful and peaceful time. It's like nature is taking a quiet rest after working hard all spring and summer. Autumn teaches me that change can be beautiful. It reminds me to enjoy the simple things, like a cool breeze or a tasty apple.
That is why autumn is my favorite season. It brings beautiful colors, good food, family time, and a feeling of calm. I look forward to it every year.
