A New Template for English Self-Introduction in Postgraduate Interviews: Key Expressions to Stand Out
Hey professors, good morning. My name is Li Ming, a senior from Sun Yat-sen University majoring in Computer Science. It's a real honor to be here for this interview.
I've always been fascinated by how technology solves real-world problems, which is why I chose my major. During my undergraduate studies, I built a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms. My GPA ranks in the top 10% of my department, and I've received the National Scholarship. Beyond the coursework, I led a project team last year to develop a mobile app for campus resource sharing. We used Python and Flask for the backend, and I was responsible for the core API design. It was tough when we faced database optimization issues, but we figured it out by studying existing frameworks. That experience taught me a ton about project management and practical coding skills.
The reason I'm so eager to pursue a master's degree here, especially in your Artificial Intelligence group, is your groundbreaking research on machine learning applications in healthcare. I read Professor Wang's recent paper on medical image *ysis, and it genuinely inspired me. I believe further study here will equip me with the advanced theoretical framework and research methods I need. My short-term plan is to immerse myself in coursework and lab projects. Looking ahead, I aim to contribute to innovative research in this field and hopefully pursue a Ph.D. in the future.
Outside of academics, I'm a basketball fan. Playing on a team for years has shown me the power of collaboration and resilience. I think that mindset helps in research, too, when you hit a wall.
That's a little about me. Thank you for your time, and I'm ready for your questions.
