My Life in High School
The moment I stepped into this high school campus, I knew my life was about to change. Everything feels bigger and faster here compared to middle school.
My typical school day starts early. I arrive at the grand school gate by 7:20 AM, often meeting my new clas*ates, Tom and Lucy. We walk to our classroom together, talking about homework or the latest school news. Our first class begins at 8:00 sharp. I enjoy English class the most because our teacher, Ms. Zhang, makes learning fun with games and group discussions. Math class is challenging, but I’m trying my best to keep up.
The campus is beautiful. We have a large library filled with books and quiet study areas. During the 20-minute break between second and third class, I like to go there to read or review notes. The school cafeteria is another favorite spot. At noon, it’s always crowded and lively. The food is decent, and sharing a table with friends is the best part of lunchtime.
Afternoon classes end at 4:30 PM. But the day isn’t over for many of us. There are various club activities. I joined the English Club, where we watch short films and practice speaking every Tuesday. On Thursdays, I have basketball practice. Running on the court with my team helps me forget about homework for a while.
Of course, high school life isn’t all easy. There is more homework and the pressure to do well is real. Sometimes I feel tired and a bit stressed, especially before exams. But my friends and teachers are very supportive. We study together in the library after school, explaining difficult problems to each other.
What I appreciate most about high school is the opportunity to try new things. Last month, I gave a short speech in English class for the first time. My hands were shaking, but my clas*ates clapped for me. That moment made me feel brave and proud.
Life here is busy and sometimes tiring, but it’s also exciting and full of growth. I’m learning more than just textbook knowledge. I’m learning how to manage my time, how to work with others, and how to face challenges. I still have a long way to go in the next three years, but I’m ready for the journey. This is my high school life—a mix of hard work, friendship, and new discoveries every single day.
