Dear Alex,
How’s everything going? I’m writing to share my recent experience of volunteering at a local community library, which turned out to be quite meaningful.
The library was running a “Book Buddy” program for children. My task was simple: help kids find books and read with them. At first, I thought it would be just about reading stories. But soon, I realized it was more than that. Many kids, especially those from busy families, rarely had someone to sit down and read with them patiently. When I saw their eyes light up at exciting plots or their confused frowns turn into understanding *iles, I felt a real sense of accomplishment.
One little girl, Lily, was shy and hesitant at first. After a few sessions, she started picking books actively and even asked me questions about the characters. Her confidence grew, not just in reading, but in chatting and sharing ideas. That’s when I truly understood: volunteering isn’t just about giving time; it’s about making a real, positive impact on someone’s life, even in a *all way.
This experience has changed my view. I used to think big actions mattered most. Now I see that *all, consistent efforts — like being a reliable “Book Buddy” — can truly make a difference. It’s about connection and attention.
I’d love to hear about your community activities too. Hope to catch up soon!
Best wishes,
Li Hua
