A Letter to the Textbook Publisher
Dear Editor,
I'm writing to express my opinions about your English textbook, which we have been using for a semester.
I must say, abundant pictures can be found in your textbook, which makes it visually attractive and far from boring. What's more, the content covers a wide range of topics, from science to culture. As a result, these features greatly spark our interest in learning English and help us understand the language in real contexts.
However, there's one thing that bothers us. The vocabulary load in each unit seems a bit too heavy. While we understand the importance of words, the large number of new terms increases our learning burden significantly. We often have to spend extra time memorizing them, which sometimes leaves us less time to practice other skills like speaking and writing.
Therefore, I sincerely hope that you could consider adjusting the vocabulary section. Maybe you could highlight the most essential words or spread them out more evenly across different units. We believe this change would make the textbook even more student-friendly.
